How does Identifix Direct-Hit work?
After logging in, an online session is begun either by recording a new vehicle or retrieving a previously stored vehicle from your shop's records. Once a vehicle has been designated, Identifix's extensive databases are easily accessed. Use “Direct-Hit” to concentrate your research on the vehicle's symptom or system. By using the Advanced Search tool you can broaden the focus to include all the diagnostic and repair resources available for the selected vehicle.

How do I retrieve a previously stored vehicle record?
Any time you or a coworker enters a new vehicle while logged into Direct-Hit, that vehicle is automatically stored in “My Shop”, an exclusive database of your shop's vehicle records that's maintained at our website. By selecting the My Shop tab and Vehicle Search or the New Vehicle link, a powerful search engine is activated that recalls a vehicle directly by using an identifier such as a license plate or repair order number, or via a broader search, such as vehicle year or make.

Are TSBs available from Identifix?
Yes. There are over 50,000 TSBs, with an enhanced search capability by recalls, campaigns, vehicle system, problem symptom and diagnostic trouble code.

What if a known fix exists?
TSBs and Repair-Tracs that match the selected vehicle can be found in “Quick Fixes.” Narrow your focus by selecting a symptom or system in “Direct-Hit” and only those TSBs and Repair-Tracs that match that symptom or system of the selected vehicle will appear.

What is Repair-Trac?
Repair-Trac is a compilation of pattern failures and quick fixes developed by the Carline Specialists at Identifix from nearly 2 million Repair-Hotline calls. It's unsurpassed as the best source for solutions to after-warranty vehicle problems.

What if there isn't a known fix?
Fast Fixes is a quick and easy way to successfully diagnose and fix a problem. The most likely and most frequently overlooked causes of symptoms are provided here, drawn from roughly 20,000 calls made each month to our Repair-Hotline. You can also engage the Advanced Flowcharts to determine the most likely cause of your vehicle's problem.

What if the symptom has a long list of potential causes?
Use the interactive problem-solving mode that recommends the best tests. By answering these questions, the potential cause is quickly determined.

Can I use Direct-Hit to recommend maintenance?
